687 ultralight
Posted by Buckshot

I liked the feel and weight of the ultralight, but opted instead for the 686 field grade Silver Pigeon. Everyone cautioned me that for sporting clays, it would be too light and recoil would be too punishing when shooting 100 rounds. Also its only got 2-3/4" chambers. I really like the Silver Pigeon and I am considering lengthening the forcing cones and porting to reduce muzzle jump for better target acquisition of the second shot. I don't know if this is worth doing or is it a lot of hype created by the after market companies that sell this service. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm interested.
